Private Pilot Aeronautical Knowledge

Starry Fox Aviation is strictly quality ground instruction. We currently offer ground training for several certificates and ratings. We do not sell any pilot supplies or books. We can however, help you get them if needed.

Why ground school? Learning to fly involves three things. The first is all the theoretical knowledge required in flying an airplane. Such knowledge might include aerodynamics, flight planning, weather theory, and federal regulations. The second is practical knowledge. This is knowledge required to safely operate the airplane in normal and emergency operations. The third is much harder to learn and teach. The third is sound judgement. Sound judgement makes use of both theoretical book knowledge and practical knowledge and helps you make good aeronautical decisions.

Getting a ground school course over with first would allow you to make better use of your time in the airplane. Airplane rental and flight instruction can be quite expensive, so taking a ground school course could maximize your learning experience in the airplane. You would already have an idea of how the instruments and aircraft systems function and would not be struggling with that during your time in the plane.

Starry Fox Aviation does more than teach the exam. We will do our best to teach you as much as practical to make you a safe and knowledgeable pilot. If you did a home-study program on your own, we'll be more than glad to help you with the last couple hours of exam preparation
